How did you end up in CP fandom? thefourthvine led me into hockey RPF fandom. And then when I realized that C,P! was not in fact a horribly boring webcomic about gay restaurant staff in love (and like, why was there someone that everyone universally thought was so bad that they called him Shitty instead of his name?), I read it all in one go and then went looking for fic. As with most fic, I actually often like the fic better than the source, because it makes explicit a lot of things that the source keeps implicit, e.g. coming out, toxic frat culture, toxic Ivy League culture, toxic hockey culture, Canadian culture, Southern culture (although honestly as a Southerner ngozi's ear is not perfect? *shrug*), Johnson's fourth-wall-breaking meta-character, Lardo and the awesomeness thereof...I'll stop now. I've always liked fic-as-discourse, and I love fic for getting to have both genderqueer Lardo and cis Lardo who encounters lots of racist microaggressions. Or Shitty the perfect fantasy ally bro and Shitty the ally bro who sometimes fucks up.

Primary modes of fannish expression (fic, meta, tags, lurking) I try to write comments! My goal is to always comment when I bookmark a fic. Sometimes I don't. Mostly I do. I also reblog Tumblr fic and have Dreamwidth conversations.

Favourite character? From most most favoritest to just favoritest: Lardo, Jack, Johnson, fanon!Kent Parson, Ransom, Chowder, George. (Since nearly everyone else went with just one, it's really Lardo.)

Georgia, the manager? agent? I don't remember, from the Providence Falconers. In a fandom that has TOO FEW WOMEN based on a culture in which women are treated like dirt and front office staff make really cruel business decisions, her brief appearances in which she seems to be good at business and also genuinely care about Jack's well-being made me really happy. (I doubt C,P! will still be Yuletide-eligible this year, but I really want a "Lardo and George are kindred spirits" fic.)

Everyone else seems to like Lardo so much and she just isn't clicking for me. *sigh* I like the idea of liking her, in principle! I don't know what my deal is.

How did you end up in CP fandom? I kept seeing images of that Jack/Bitty kiss on my dash last year and after a while it got so much that I needed to find out where it was from. And then I ended up reading the entire comic in one night (starting at around midnight on a Sunday, work on Monday was a weird mix of the overtired Monday feeling and pure elation because OMG THEY KISSED). And that was that.
Primary modes of fannish expression (fic, meta, tags, lurking) I do write the occasional fic, but mostly I read fanfic and reblog stuff on tumblr.
Favourite character? All of them. But maybe Dex. Or Lardo. Or Chowder. Ransom is pretty cool, too. And Jack and Shitty and Holster and Nursey and Farmer and did I mention I like ALL of them?

Anyway, I'm so glad there's a community here on DW!
