4.2: 24 Hour Celly
Jun. 18th, 2018 01:53 pmComic Link just in case anyone wants it.
Bitty, Bits, Eric, Dicky, Ricky, my dude
CALL YOUR MOTHER.
It won't be as bad as you think it will. She used to sew your ice skating costumes, you are probably not blindsiding her with this. The kissing your boyfriend on TV part is likely a bit of a shock; having a boyfriend, somewhat less shocking.
As always, mods, if this needs to go away until a decent spoiler period, I completely understand.

Date: 2018-06-18 07:22 pm (UTC)like. I recently had top surgery. I very deliberately did not tell my mother until *afterwards* (she knew it was going to happen, just not... when) and when I did I told her via e-mail so she could get her initial panic out of the way and e-mail me back something loving and supportive, which, to her credit, she did.
So, yeah, the bit where Coach doesn't say *anything* supportive, his mother doesn't give him any option other than a phone call (and doesn't back off when he's clearly scared and upset), and he's scared... means I'm kind of worried.
(CAPITAINES, though. And RANSOM'S UNSUBTLE LIP-BITE.)
(I was also kinda surprised by everyone touching the cup, but hey, I know very little about these superstitions apart from what I've osmosed via the fandom. :-p)

Date: 2018-06-18 08:01 pm (UTC)Yes, Suzanne needs to back off for a day or so and yes, Coach should have an actual conversation with his son, but I am very hopeful it will not be terrible.
I'm giving the Bittles the benefit of the doubt because I've been that closeted Southern queer and while my mother's response was less than stellar, my dad was (and is) excellent. But he never said anything supportive before my sister came out, and not much after, so it took me a long time to say the words. And he still doesn't exactly march at pride with us.
So, I have hope. And if I'm wrong, well, we have blanket forts for reasons?
(And CONGRATS on top surgery! I hope your healing is/was speedy!)
