Of course Coach loves his son. Of course Coach can't say anything until Bitty says something. Not because acknowledging The Gay is bad, but because Bitty's been withdrawn and prickly with his parents for years.
Of course Bitty loves his dad. Of course Bitty can't say anything because his dad is the fucking football coach and what if the answer isn't 'i love you'? What if the answer is 'leave'?
These dumb idiots. Talking past and around each other for so long, they don't know how to communicate at all. The love is there, but will it be enough to get them to open their mouths and talk instead of being stuck in their usual patterns?
