nooooooooooo Lis but I played hockey for PE in secondary school (because, see, you don't specify ICE hockey and around here field hockey is the default) AND everything I know about ice hockey comes from Check, Please!

Haha I currently live between two frat houses near a university that does football, and it's an Experience. They throw trash out of their own windows so for a while there was a small pile of red solo cups, tissue, etc. on this roof/ledge thing right outside my apartment

I have never been around a Frat House (not a thing here) but my hostel *is* right opposite the men's hostel and they're awful children.

I live in a college town. When I went to the college in question, the dorm I lived in as an upperclassperson was right in the middle of a bunch of frat houses. Can confirm: occasionally the yard of any given frat house is turned into a ball pit but with red solo cups intead of balls.

Also, re. frat bros: in my experience, interacting with them one at a time is no more or less likely to be troublesome than any other random man. the more bros you get in the same place the more likely they are to start performing toxic masculinity for each other's approval.

re. hockey: I have seen more hockey since starting Check Please than probably in the entire rest of my life put together, but I have a distinct preference for women's hockey. I'm hoping the NWHL will put a team somewhere I can see a game live occasionally...

I am a big fan of pie in its many forms.

I only know how to ice skate because there is a local ice rink that had open skate on Friday nights when I was in middle and high school. We would get dropped off for a few hours to be Teens and then picked up, presumably worn out from emoting and skating. We also had a roller skating rink that had the same, so our parents could alternate where we'd spend the evening.

I need an ‘it’s complicated’ ticket for the hockey one. I will blame my ~~current obsessing~~ renewed interest in Check Please and a handful of tumblr bloggers though.

I’m feeling really bad for whoever the poor soul is that has never eaten a pie. Where is Bitty when you need him? He would not let that stand!

I make a bitchin' all butter pie crust and will make a batch of six at a time, roll them out between wax paper and then roll 'em up to freeze. I am a fan of mincemeat pie with cheddar cheese on the side, and will make weird old-fashioned pies like raisin/sour cream, vinegar pie, sugar pie, chess pie, and shaker lemon pie because that's what my grandma made for breakfast when we would go to visit her on the farm in summers.

I grew up in Bruins Country but gave up for a long time after the second mid 2000's lockout and also because Cam Neely's knee went to hell. I now watch CWHL and NWHL on livestream, and fail utterly at getting to live games because I am a workaholic.

I went to a women's college, so I am preserved from up-close-and-personal knowledge of frat bros.

Pushpa. To my knowledge there has not been a female student/staff called Pushpa in the last decade, so basically they fixed on a fictional female name and it has been successfully carried forward for at least ten years now.

I'm not super fond of pie (I know, I know, it's sacrilege whatever) but overall I just don't really have a sweet tooth? And yet I bake cookies a lot. A mystery for the ages.

I've...seen a hockey on tv? once or twice? Otherwise all I know comes from Check Please. I do ice skate though! I'm teaching myself basic figure skating from youtube, which can probably only end in tears.

As for frats--I've been ~~in a frat house~~ on a frat floor and it's been great! on the other hand, it's a coed frat and i already knew most of the members? They're not all that messy though (it's because PS on campus knows that they're the stoner frat and they need to Not Get In Trouble)

All of my hockey knowledge does not come from Check Please, BUT it's made me the hockey fan I am now-going strong for 2.5 years now and proud partial season ticket holder for the Dallas Stars. Pens and Golden Knights also favorites.
