NHL captaincy doesn't get awarded out of nowhere, and it isn't about putting pucks in the net. Tell me a little story about Jack's teammates/alt captains/coaches noticing him doing something (helping out a fellow rookie, maybe?) that convinced them he deserved the A, and deserved it now.
